A few weeks ago T-Mobile launched two new Home Internet plans: Plus and Away. As a side effect of this announcement, T-Mobile also internally noted that address verification for existing Home Internet customers was coming soon, and notifications would go out today, May 8th. Apparently, along with the Away plan being delayed, the address verification is now also delayed until later this year.

As shown in an update to the same document we previously leaked, T-Mobile will now be verifying Home Internet addresses “later this year” instead of the previous date of May 8th.

The verification is still coming, so don’t get too excited. Customers impacted include those that signed up using an address that they do not use the service at. This includes some customers who were guided to do this by T-Mobile reps themselves.

There are reports that employees were even encouraged by upper management to falsify addresses as necessary to sell Home Internet.

There’s no word on when the address verification will start, but customers who originally signed up using a false address should be on the lookout for a text in the next few months.

We’ll keep an eye out and let you know if a concrete date is set once again.
