T-Mobile has temporarily changed up their “Insider Hookup” program for the holidays by giving out four codes per employee to use by January 5th.
The news comes via documents shared with The T-Mo Report. The promotion is valid for Magenta, Magenta MAX, and Essentials plans only. This means customers wanting a discounted rate plan like 55+, First Responder, and Military will have to make do with BOGO lines.
The Insider Hookup promotion is one of the more popular promos T-Mobile offers. It gives the account holder 20% off voice lines for the life of the account, even for lines added after the initial account opening.
Originally started back in 2017, the Insider Hookup promotion came and went multiple times over the years. It was a special offer that T-Mobile pulled out as needed to get more switchers from the competition.
Earlier this year, however, T-Mobile changed it up so that the promotion ran all the time. The difference is employees only received 1 code per quarter. Our sources say that promo will continue past the 5th, and this new promotion is a one-time special offer.
To get the offer, customers on a competitor network must redeem a promo code on the Insider Hookup website using their phone number. Once added, the customer can then open a new account with T-Mobile on a qualifying plan and port in their number. Once the port-in is complete, the promotion will be added to the account automatically.
Customers interested in the promotion can ask a rep at a local store, or attempt to find one on the r/tmobile subreddit. Given the number of codes being sent out and the relatively short window of time to use them, now is definitely a good time to join the magenta carrier. The codes are valid until January 5th.
