Update: T-Mobile’s internal documentation and partner pricing have been quite confusing for this iPhone release. There are internal documents that conflict, and pricing for trade-ins changing by the hour.

As we approach preorder day on Friday, we’ll be keeping an eye on the values and updating as we get more information. For now, consider all values below to be “likely”, but subject to change.

Original coverage below.

Today, Apple announced the new iPhone 15 lineup, including the Pro and Pro Max variants. The event showcased great new features like dynamic island, camera upgrades, and (finally) a USB-C port.

Preorders begin on September 15th with the official launch a week later on September 22nd. T-Mobile is already on the move, with communication going to employees today about the offers customers can take advantage of to get the device.

Your Trade-In Value Buying An iPhone 15

T-Mobile’s main offering is a trade-in deal. The good news is anyone can take advantage of the deal – new and existing customers – on all levels. The trade-in can also be combined with ‘Carrier Freedom‘.

Accounts have a maximum of 4 redemptions of the promotion. As usual, be aware that trade-in value is mostly distributed as recurring monthly credits against the financing agreement and not a single lump sum. As it is with most deals, your trade-in value goes further based on which plan you currently have and your device type.

T-Mobile is predictably creating separation between the new “Go5G Plus”/”Go5G Next” plans and the grandfathered Magenta MAX and One Plus plans. Having an older premium plan now means less value, which T-Mobile will likely use as incentive to switch plans for customers wanting the best deals.

Also be mindful that those moving to the new plans begins your potential upgrade cycle into a new phone every year, or every two years, depending on which plan you move into.

Go5G Plus And Go5G Next Trade-In Values

T-Mobile offers three tiers of value based on your device when on the premium Go5G Plus / Go5G Next plan. The best value devices can get a free iPhone 15 Pro.

Note: The iPhone XR is in both the $830 and the $400 values in our internal source documents. We are confident it’s the $830 value given that Apple’s website says that value as well, but we’ll update the chart below if we hear otherwise.

Every Other Plan

Finally, if you have Go5G or regular Magenta, you can get up to $350 off. We don’t yet have the values of those devices, but they’ll likely be quite similar to the ones above, just with lower value.

All other plans (that can finance devices) can only get up to $200 off the new iPhones. Not a great deal.

The Apple Watch SE Will Also Be On Sale

As a final addition to the sale, the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) in 40mm or 44mm has an offer. With the addition of a new Premium Apple DIGITS line connected to the watch on your account (the cellular service), the watch will be free via recurring credits against the financing plan.

This offer is available to customers on any plan, so no premium high-dollar stuff necessary for this one.

These offers will be available on Friday at 8am Eastern via preorders at T-Mobile.
