If you’ve read the news at all in the past few months, you’ve probably stumbled upon all the leaks and rumors about Samsung’s upcoming foldable phones. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 are coming, and Samsung has already even confirmed that an Unpacked event is coming next month where they’ll likely be announced. Now, official product images have leaked, confirming pretty much everything you could probably want to know about the phones — as far as design goes, at least.

These renders are coming courtesy of popular Twitter leaker SnoopyTech, and show the renders that Samsung will likely ultimately use in product listings for the smartphones once they come out.

Starting with the Z Fold 5, we can see that the phone will have a very similar design to what the Z Fold 4 currently has, including an almost identical-looking rear camera. The flash module is to the right side of the camera rather than below it, but that’s pretty much it.

Going to the foldable display, we can notice smaller bezels, but again, that’s about it. Rumors have hinted at an improved hinge design that would allow the phone to fold completely shut, but it’s not really something that can be seen in these renders. If the colors in these renders are the ones we’ll see on release, we’ll have three colorways to choose from, including black, gold, and silver.

Moving over to the Z Flip 5, we can notice more changes here. Starting with the one you’re most likely to notice straight away — the cover screen, which stayed basically identical for a couple of generations, is actually getting way bigger this time. The fact that the cover screen is growing this much will likely spell the end of those fun Bespoke Edition customized colorways, or at least a creative reimagining of them, but it’s a small price to pay.

Again, like with the Galaxy Z Fold 5, we can notice that the bezels in the Z Flip 5’s foldable display are also notably reduced. We’ll need to see how they look in real life, of course, but it shouldn’t be much longer before an actual photo of the phone in the flesh leaks at this rate.

Specifications of the phone have also leaked. We have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in both smartphones, with up to 8GB of RAM on the Z Flip 5 and 12GB of RAM on the Z Fold 5. Both get up to 512GB of storage, IPX8 water resistance, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6E, and support USB-C 3.2 connectivity.

In the case of the Z Flip 5, the cover screen is 3.4 inches, while the internal foldable panel is a 1080p 120Hz 6.7-inch AMOLED panel. The rear cameras are rather modest, with a 12MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide, and a 10MP selfie camera. The camera is a rather modest, but respectable, 3,700 mAh.

Going to the Z Fold 5, the outer display is a 6.2-inch panel, while the inner foldable one is considerably bigger at 7.6 inches — both are 120Hz, although the foldable display has a dynamic refresh rate that can go as low as 1Hz, saving battery. The main camera is 50MP, with two auxiliar 12MP sensors: one for ultra-wide and another for telephoto. And as far as selfie cameras go, you have an under-display 4MP camera in the foldable display, and a 10MP display in the outer display. Finally, the battery is bigger than the Z Flip 5, at 4,400 mAh.

We’re nearing the release of these new phones, but so far, they’re looking pretty exciting. Will you be snagging the latest in Samsung’s fold or flip line when they launch? Share your thoughts below!
