The “Un-Carrier” has had a variety of discounted rate place for years now, typically covering special groups such as 55+, First Responders, and Military members. These plans offer nearly identical perks and benefits as their mainline counterparts but at a modest discount.

Starting today, a new group of these segmented rate plans is launching at T-Mobile, and this time it’s for students.

Student Perks Savings

Launched today, July 30th, T-Mobile now offers three different discounted plans for students. Experience Beyond, Experience More, and Essentials Saver each now have a student variant, as seen below.

These new “with Student Perks Savings” max out at two lines, so you won’t be running a full family with these, but they’re a great deal for students with perhaps a partner or a friend/family member that needs a line.

A single line will cost $80 on Beyond, $65 on More, and $30 on Saver, while a two-line plan will cost $130, $110, and $60, as seen in the image above. That’s up to $40 off when compared to the cost of two lines on the standard Experience Beyond plan.

These new student plans will also require verification to ensure you’re actually a student, just like the other segmented rate plans.

But what about the phone deals?

If you’re at all familiar with the special discounted rate plans, you may be aware that, usually, the trade-in values for phone promos are reduced compared to the full-fat plan versions. Indeed, that will likely be the case with these new Student plans.

For example, a current iPhone promo is offering up to $1,100 off on Experience Beyond, but only $900 off if you’re on Experience Beyond 55+, First Responder, or Military. It’s likely the new Student plans will fall into the same bracket as those plans.

The new Student plans are available now on T-Mobile’s website. To see them, visit the plans page and scroll to the bottom and select the “Discounts for 55+, First Responder….” banner.
