Even if you don’t have T-Mobile cell service, using T-Mobile for just home internet is not that bad of an idea. For $50 a month (sometimes less!), you get access to unlimited 5G that you can use as your home internet, in case you happen to live somewhere where traditional ISPs won’t reach you (or you’re sick of their games).
If your cell loyalties lie elsewhere but T-Mobile is your pick for your home internet, T-Mobile also wants your business there too, and might treat you with some juicy discounts to make up your mind.
T-Mobile’s popular Insider discount is being offered from today to some “targeted” home internet-only accounts, according to sources. The discount reduces the standard price of all voice lines for an account.
This discount will permanently knock 20% off the price of any plan you want—yes, permanently, meaning that the discount should last for the life of the account, and apply to future lines you may add down the line, too. The promotion stacks with other discounts such as free lines, too, so you won’t miss out on other savings if you’re going to claim this.
The only catch, if you can call it that, is that the insider discount only works on the newer Experience More and Experience Beyond plans. No Essentials plan or older grandfathered plans with this one.
The Insider discount is typically acquired through special codes distributed by T-Mobile employees—employees usually have a limited supply of these codes, so it’s not like they can hand them out like candy. It’s also typically just for new customers, in order to entice them away from competitors. Through this promotion, though, the code will be offered to Home Internet users in an attempt to move them off competing carriers and start using T-Mobile for everything.
We’re not sure how the offer will be distributed, but our guess is customers with just home internet accounts will receive an email and/or a text message sometime soon if eligible, so keep an eye out.
This is being offered from today, and likely continues for just a limited time.
