The Moto razr+ 2023 launched with quite a lot of interest last year as a viable (and slightly cheaper) alternative to Samsung’s ZFlip line. The device has a normal MSRP of $999. However, a new sale appears to be on at T-Mobile that cuts the cost to half (and even down to free with some trade-ins).

Available now at T-Mobile, customers on any plan can purchase the Moto razr+ 2023 for just $499. That’s a savings of $500 off the usual price.

Not only that, but most customers on recent plans can get extra money off via a trade-in. The values of trade-in devices will vary depending on which plan you’re on.

For customers on the premium Go5G Plus or Go5G Next plans, phones as old as the Samsung Galaxy S6 net you a $500 credit, setting the total price to $0 (after monthly bill credits over 24 months, naturally). The full table of eligible trade-in devices for those plans are below.

$500 trade-in values on Go5G Plus and Go5G Next plans:

  • Samsung Galaxy: S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, S7, S7 edge, S7 active, S7 edge duo, S8, S8+, S8 Active, A32, A32 5G, A51, A51 5G, A52, A52 5G, A53 5G, A54 5G, A70, A71, A71 5G, A21, A23, A14 5G, Z Fold, Z Flip, Z Flip 5G, Note8

  • Moto:razr 4G, razr 5G, Moto Edge, Edge 20 Lite, Edge 20 Fusion, Edge 2021, Edge 5G 2022, Razr 40

Do note that, although there are other devices valued at a $1000 value for trade-in (not listed above), that value is limited to a maximum of the price of the phone being purchased. Thus, even with a $1000-value trade-in, you’ll still only receive $500.

Customers on older or less “premium” plans will need to trade in devices a bit newer to hit that $500 value, but there are still some relatively low-value devices on the list, like the Samsung Galaxy S10e, which is often found on the used market for under $100. The eligible plans for these trade-in values are the standard Go5G plan, any Magenta plan, and any ONE plan.

$500 trade-in values on Go5G, Magenta, and ONE plans:

  • OnePlus: 10 Pro 5G, 9 Pro 5G

  • Moto: razr+ 2023

There are also some devices worth a value of $250, which can be seen on T-Mobile’s website (click the promotion banner above the phone, then pick the applicable promo).

To claim the deal, simply purchase the Moto razr+ 2023 on an eligible T-Mobile line and specify you have a trade-in. This can be done online or in-store/via support. Once you enter the phone’s details, you should be given an estimated promotional trade value.

Example given based on a trade-in of a Galaxy S10e on T-Mobile ONE

The only catch for this deal seems to be that, other than the 24 months of credits, the phone is currently only available in the carrier-exclusive “Viva Magenta” color.

Those interested should jump on the deal, as there’s no telling how long the offer will last.
