If you’re anything like me, you might upgrade your phone every two to three years. That being said, nowadays we get multiple new flagship phones every year (and sometimes more often than that). Unless you have a lot of money to throw at tech, chances are you can’t keep up on the latest device.
There are new iPhones, new Samsung Galaxy phones, and new Google Pixel phones every year. This is why deals, and carrier deals specifically, are more important than ever as a pathway to a smartphone upgrade. Right now, Verizon is running some deals that will let you upgrade to a new phone for free.
Verizon has just unveiled a range of holiday deals for you to check out. The carrier will be unveiling new deals every week, but for now, there’s an ongoing offer that will pretty much get you a free smartphone upgrade.
Specifically, if you own an old iPhone, Verizon will offer a free upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro if you add a new line on their “Unlimited Ultimate” plan. If you’re an existing customer, you can upgrade your phone and get $830 off the iPhone 15 Pro or any iPhone 15 series device.
If you have an old Samsung phone, you’ll be eligible for a free upgrade to a Galaxy S23, and if you have an old Google phone, you will be given a free Pixel 8. All you need to do is trade in your old phone — it doesn’t matter in which condition is in, or how old it is.
In the case of the iPhone deal, Apple will also throw in an Apple TV 4K and six months of Apple One, as we’ve detailed before.
What’s the catch? The plan you have will determine the values you get. For 5G Do More, Play More, and Unlimited Plus customers, the iPhone promo will net you $700 off. 5G Get More and Unlimited Ultimate customers get the full $830 off.
As for the Samsung and Pixel promos, pretty much everyone on modern plans will get the full $800 value, unless they’re on 5G Start, Unlimited Welcome, or a lower plan.
In addition, unlike T-Mobile, Verizon’s installment plans are over 36 months, not 24.
Verizon is even offering some deals on video game stuff if that’s something that interests you. The PlayStation 5 is being bundled with a two-year PlayStation Plus subscription for just $739.99, while the Meta Quest 3 is being bundled with a free copy of Asgard’s Wrath 2 as well as a six-month free trial of Meta Quest.
