Recently, T-Mobile made news when they decided to raise prices on even more legacy customers. Shortly after that, the company began handing out free lines to some targeted customers as a sort of apology.

The free line was BYOD only, meaning customers can’t finance a device on the line for at least a year.

We now have word that, apparently, there’s yet another free line offer going out starting today, and this one is specifically for some customers who have been with the company for over 10 years.

According to multiple sources as well as a document shared with us here at The Mobile Report, T-Mobile has begun offering free lines to customers with at least 10 years of tenure with T-Mobile. There are a few conditions, though.

Targeted customers active as of March 10, 2015 who are on eligible rate plans, and who have a multi-line account with at least 2 paid voice lines on a Family Plan and no more than one free or discounted lines on their account, can get a free voice line (via monthly bill credits).

Internal T-Mobile Documentation

The first condition is the account must have been active on or prior to March 10th, 2015. Accounts opened after this date are ineligible. Also, if you’re on a “segmented” plan (like 55+, First Responder, etc) you won’t qualify.

Second, the account can only have up to 1 free/discounted line. If you have more than 1 free line promo on the account already, you won’t be offered this one. By the way, “discounted” in this context likely means customers who are on the Go5G Next plan that don’t get free lines, and instead get “discounted” lines.

Finally, you must have at least 2 paid lines already. You also can’t have cancelled a line in the last 90 days, or you’ll have to re-add that cancelled line before adding this free one. These are standard requirements for all free line offers.

There’s also another condition similar to the previous free line: you can’t finance a device on the free line. The documents say this is for the life of the line, too. Oh, and you can’t cancel any of your existing paid lines for the next year after getting the free line.

Eligible customers should be notified starting today (March 21st) and only customers notified via SMS are eligible. Eligible customers will have an “account segment” called “Loyalty BYOD March 2025 Part 2”. In addition, customers who received the first free line last week won’t be eligible for this one, and vice versa.

If you received the text today, March 21st, you can add a line online or via support to claim it for free.
