Every now and then, you probably want to upgrade your main “daily driver” phone to something with the latest tech and features. That might be a new Apple iPhone, or a new Google Pixel, or something else. Then there are times you might want to have a spare budget device laying around. If that’s you, T-Mobile’s latest deal might be what you’re looking for.

T-Mobile launched their new Revvl 8 phone last week, and although it’s a super budget device (retailing for just $200), it still features a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 CPU and a generous 6GB of RAM. That puts it in line with other similar devices like the Samsung Galaxy A36 and the Motorola Moto G Stylus 2025.

Even better, T-Mobile is offering the device for completely free to every postpaid plan, and you only have to offer up another device as a trade-in. And when we say another device, we mean any device.

The eligible trade-in device can be any phone in any condition. If it has an IMEI, it’s eligible. That means the smashed up old iPhone laying in a drawer from a decade ago will get you a brand new Revvl 8. Not bad.

There’s only one small catch—you’ll still have to pay a $35 DCC fee and the taxes on the full $199.99 price of the device. For most people that’ll work out to about $50 total, give or take. Add to that, the the “free” is via 24 months of bill credits. That’s not a big deal if you plan to stick around at T-Mobile for that long anyway, though.

If you have a Costco or Sam’s Club membership, though, you can visit one that has a T-Mobile kiosk and get that $35 DCC waived, bringing the price down to just the taxes. Pretty sweet!

The offer is available now via the T-Life app and online at My T-Mobile. We’re not sure how long it’ll stick around. If you’re interested in having a spare phone to play around with, or even as a daily driver for yourself or a family member, you’ll want to check this deal out as soon as possible.
