Helium Mobile is not your average MVNO. It flaunts offering a “free” tier, and even the higher-end paid plans are not that expensive and look pretty good. If you would like to save some money on your phone bill, and if you have a few friends that are in the same boat, it could be worth it to check out some of Helium Mobile’s new group plans while they’re hot.
Helium Mobile has announced the return of its Group Plans feature, designed to allow multiple users to consolidate their mobile service onto a single account and bill. Under the new structure, one designated “Group Admin” manages the account and handles billing.
The plan allows up to eight individuals to be part of a single group. Each member within the group can independently select the Helium Mobile plan that best suits their needs, choosing from the existing offerings.
You can choose the free plan if that one fits your needs better, or you can choose any of the other two paid plans if you need more data. There’s not really much of an advantage to making your plans a group plan other than it allows you to manage multiple lines in a more centralized manner. There’s no discounts or anything of the like attached to group plans.
You can earn Cloud Points too—these points are acquired when users opt-in to share anonymized location data, contributing to the network’s data collection, as well as via referrals. Earned points can be redeemed by individual members for various options, potentially including extra data or items in the “Cloud Store.” There are a ton of gift card options, from Instacart to Domino’s pizza, so there’s plenty to choose from.
Also, right now, the company is giving $25 worth of Cloud Points as a bonus for new sign-ups that are referred, even for the free plan, and we’ve got a limited-use code for you right now! To sign up, download the Helium Mobile app and use the code 63FEQVE to bypass the waitlist. There are only a few spots open, so act fast!
