One of the difficult things about modern postpaid plans is the cost—the more lines you have the more savings you get. This means people that just need one line are left to pay way more or go with a prepaid option.
T-Mobile is no exception. A single line on their most premium plan, Go5G Next, costs a whopping $100 per month, while their slightly less premium Go5G Plus plan is $90 per month.
According to recently leaked information shared with us here at The Mobile Report, T-Mobile is planning to offer a completely unique plan to single-line customers starting in early March. The plan will offer a small savings over the same plan with more lines.
The above image is from a quickly removed article on internal systems detailing the plans. The internal document currently no longer exists, but our sources suggest the following details.
First, there will be two new plans: one for Go5G Next and one for Go5G Plus. Both of these will be unique plans that offer single lines for $5 less than the usual Plus and Next plans. That works out, currently, to $95 per month for Next and $85 per month for Plus.
Both new and existing customers are eligible for the new pricing. Existing customers with single lines can call or contact support to be switched to the new plan, as the change will not be automatic.
In addition, if at any point customers on this new plan add a line, their rate will go back up to the original pricing, as they will no longer be on the unique single-line plan.
Obviously, the $5 discount isn’t groundbreaking, but it does make single lines slightly more attractive when compared to the competitor. Plus, the deal is sweetened even more when you consider the higher end plans at T-Mobile get the best trade deals, like on the latest iPhone 16 series.
On Verizon, a single line can reach $90 or higher depending on the perks chosen, and at AT&T a single line on the most premium plan is about $86 per month. Note that both Verizon and AT&T charge taxes and fees separately, so T-Mobile comes out ahead here by including those in the base cost.
The new plans are, as of now, set to launch on March 6th, though that could change before release.
