It takes a lot to get a mobile carrier off the ground. In today’s very saturated market, it takes having great devices, great coverage, and great prices to even get eyes on your service.
Starting a new MVNO in 2023 might sound crazy, but it wasn’t to MobileX CEO Peter Adderton. An industry veteran & founder of Boost Mobile, his team have been hard at work giving MobileX all the trimmings.
Since launching in February 2023, they have been finding ways to entice new customers with unique value. It began with an AI-powered plan builder that creates ‘mobile plans as unique as you’ based on your usage. Then in September of 2023, MobileX landed a partnership with Walmart to offer services in stores. Earlier this year, they started to offer phones and device financing for their customers.
Now, for this holiday season, they’ll be offering huge data upgrades through the end of the year.
Double Data And A New ‘Truly Unlimited’ Plan Are Here
MobileX boasts the “Personalized Access” plan powered by AI. With a lower up-front cost, the MobileX app tracks your data tendencies, giving you a rate based on your usage. Through the end of 2024, this standard AI-powered plan is seeing an upgrade in value with MobileX matching every gigabyte of data purchased.
The plan starts with a base rate of $2.10 per gigabyte of data. Through December 31st, that same base price nets you two gigabytes. Not too shabby.
Of course, the free matched data does not rollover as a credit the following month, but any unused purchased data still will.
MobileX has also upgraded their “Unlimited 5” plan to the “Unlimited 10” plan. It offers 10 gigabytes of highspeed data, twice as much for the same price as usual. This offer is also good through the end of the year.
In addition, MobileX has unveiled a brand new “Unlimited” plan, temporarily replacing the “Unlimited 30” plan. For the same $24.88 per month (plus taxes & government surcharges), customers now get “truly high-speed data with no caps”.
This is, apparently, as good as it sounds: no throttling or hidden limits, just uninterrupted high-speed data through the end of the year. MobileX customers don’t need to fear the fine print on this one.
Both the “Unlimited 10” and the full-fat “Unlimited” plans also include 10 gigabytes of high-speed hotspot data.
“MobileX is ready to take on the big carrier-owned prepaid brands head-on, ensuring that both new and existing customers have more choices. We’re now offering double the data on our customized plans, unlimited plans without data caps, and expanded options for staying connected globally. While we operate as an MVNO and don’t own the network, our commitment to delivering the best plans and experiences remains unwavering. MobileX customers can count on us—after this promotion ends on December 31, we’ll continue to evaluate our prices and market conditions, and we intend to compete with the best prices in the industry to benefit our customers.”

International Upgrades Are Here Too
Included in the “Unlimited” plan, customers can now call and text over 90 countries. This feature is available to be added to their other plans for an additional $9.95 per month. Check for eligibility in your preferred countries here. Honestly, if you want the international access, just go for the full Unlimited plan anyway. It’ll be about the same price.
Finally, MobileX is also now offering a $10 day pass that includes 1 gigabyte of usage in an eligible country.
MVNOs like MobileX continue to make a big push for value. Do these price points sway your interest? MobileX is free to try for 10 days so the app can learn your usage to make an expert recommendation. What stops you from taking a chance? Let us know your thoughts below.
