Last month, T-Mobile shared that the Pixel 10 series would support data over T-Satellite right out of the box. It was an early look at the full T-Satellite data rollout set for October 1st. Now Apple customers can also join in on the fun.
Starting with iOS 26, T-Mobile customers with the T-Satellite add-on (or customers on Go5G Next/Experience Beyond) will have limited data access via satellite on iPhone 13 and newer, including the new iPhone 17 range.
This means that, in addition to the existing texting capabilities, customers in areas with no native land-based coverage will be able to access apps like maps and even music streaming via satellite.
Music in the middle of nowhere
It’s safe to say third-party apps will join sooner or later, just like on Android, where apps like WhatsApp and AccuWeather are supported.
Surprisingly, though, it seems Apple is first to gain music streaming abilities via satellite, with Apple Music being supported. Android currently has no music streaming services enabled for T-Satellite data.
The overall list of apps for iPhones is admittedly shorter than the Android list, and is limited (for now) to Apple-created apps. The full list is below.
- Apple Compass
- Apple Fitness
- Apple Maps
- Apple Music
- Apple Messages
- Apple Weather
How to join
T-Satellite is included with Go5G Next and Experience Beyond plans, with Experience More customers included through the end of 2025 (if you were part of the beta). For all other customers, including both existing T-Mobile customers and customers on other carriers, T-Satellite costs $10 per line per month.
