Back in June, we covered reports that T-Mobile was ending nearly all of their tax-inclusive plans. With the Experience plans no longer including taxes and fees, T-Mobile decided to align the rest of their plans (like hotspot, tablet, watch, etc.) to match.
Initially, T-Mobile was sticking with tax-inclusive plans for their 5G Home Internet service, but with the announcement of updated features for their plans last week, that has now changed.
As of August 6th, T-Mobile Home Internet plans no longer include taxes and fees for new customers. This applies to every 5G plan they offer, which is the Rely, Amplified, and All-In. Even the backup internet option, which gives 130GB of internet per month as a “backup”, no longer includes taxes and fees.
With this change, T-Mobile officially no longer offers any plans that include taxes and fees for new customers.
Existing customers on older voice plans that include taxes and fees, however, can add a voice line and have it include taxes and fees as well, as long as their voice plan doesn’t change. For all other line types though, like watch and tablet lines, would be “new” plans and therefore not include taxes and fees.
There is a (very) tiny benefit to the new Home Internet plan changes, and that’s 24/7 tech support. The benefit was previously only available on the “All-In” plan, but it has now been added to the Amplified plan, too. Of course, that’s only for new customers. Existing Amplified plan customers are probably better off staying where they are to save those extra bucks on taxes.
