Cellular home internet has exploded in the last few years with the widespread adoption of 5G. Services like T-Mobile’s Home Internet offer service to both remote areas with no traditional ISPs as well as areas where customers might be fed up with their current provider.

The downside to having 5G-based internet is, of course, maintaining a signal. Most cellular home internet ISPs will give customers a gateway device with built-in antennas, but many customers want more flexible (and higher quality) antennas for getting the best out of their connections. That’s where Waveform comes in.

The company offers an array of cellular antenna devices and accessories, the most notable of late being the QuadPro and QuadMini, which we’ve covered in the past. Those were meant mostly for fixed locations though, and might not be the perfect solution for 5G connections on-the-go.

Now, though, the company has the perfect solution for the roamers of the world: The OmniRoam.

The All-New OmniRoam

Waveform has announced their brand new OmniRoam antenna, a hockey-puck-shaped outdoor antenna designed specifically for vehicles, including RVs.

The new antenna comes in a whopping 10 different variants, starting with a simple 2×2 5G antenna up to the highest model with a 4×4 5G antenna, 4×4 WiFi antenna, and a GPS antenna.

The antenna boasts an IP68 water-resistance rating, perfect for permanent outdoor deployment. You get the antenna, multiple mount options, and generously long cables.

Signal Characteristics

The new OmniRoam boasts up to 6.9 dBi gain for LTE and 5G signals, and up to 5.9 dBi gain for WiFi.

Models with the WiFi antennas support 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz. They not only allow you to keep your gateway equipment in the vehicle and have perfect signal outside of the vehicle too, but also makes connecting to nearby WiFi access points a breeze, such as when stationary at an RV park. This is a feature supported by some equipment and allows you to keep your personal devices connected to your gateway, but use nearby WiFi as your internet source.

The antenna is compatible with pretty much every US carrier, as shown in the image below.

Accessories

Included with the OmniRoam are three different options for mounting: a strong magnetic mount, an adhesive stick-on mount, and a “spigot” mount, along with the required screws and tools.

The spigot mount is designed for a much more permanent installation, allowing the wires to go directly through the roof of the vehicle as needed. The magnet mount is likely to be the most used option, having an array of very strong magnets to securely attach to the roof of your vehicle.

Of course, if you need an even longer cable, Waveform has you covered with optional extensions available for purchase.

Who Is It For?

If you’re on the road a lot, or living the RV life, this antenna is going to be the one for you. The incredible array of options also makes finding the exact one you need super simple.

Maintaining a strong signal while on the road is sometimes difficult to do. Your device has to bounce between towers as you move, and having an antenna outside of the vehicle helps to quickly and seamlessly manage that tower switching.

The Waveform OmniRoam starts at $209.99 and goes up to $279.99. It’s available now over on Waveform’s website. Be sure to use our exclusive promo code at checkout, TMOREPORT, for 5% off! If you prefer, you can also find the new OmniRoam on Amazon, though you’ll pay slightly more there.
