Love is in the air. Valentine’s Day is the day of flowers, chocolates, and expensive dinners, but it’s also the day of gifts. If you don’t have a significant other to give you a gift to (or maybe you just want to treat yourself instead), T-Mobile might have the deal for you.

T-Mobile has an excellent deal going for Valentine’s Day, and if you want a free phone, you might want to continue reading.

T-Mobile is preparing a hot new deal for Valentine’s Day. For a limited time, customers can save up to $830 on a new iPhone with a qualifying trade-in, without altering their current plans. This limited-time promotion offers three tiers of savings.

First, customers on Magenta Max, Go5G Plus, or Go5G Next plans can receive up to $830 off a new iPhone with eligible trade-in. It’s rare nowadays for the grandfathered Magenta Max plan to get full value deals like this, so if you’re on that plan, it might be time for an upgrade. If you have Go5G Next, there are a few trade-in devices that will net you $1000 off, so check the T-Mobile website for details on those.

Then, for anyone on any of the “segmented” Go5G Next plans, such as 55+, First Responder, etc, you’ll get up to $800 off with high-end trades, and $630 with average trades. T-Mobile decided to begin lowering the trade values for those with these discounted plans, making many people angry, back in October.

Finally, for those on most other plans, including Magenta, Go5G, ONE, Simple Choice, and Essentials, can receive up to $500 off.

The discount amount is contingent on the model of the traded-in device. To find the value of your trade-in, visit the iPhone of your choice on T-Mobile’s website, click the “promotions” link at the top, and find the “trade-in” promotion that matches your plan. T-Mobile’s all over the place with these values, so we’re unable to fit a table here.

Qualifying phones for the maximum discount can include the iPhone 11 Pro or newer, Samsung Galaxy S10 or newer, and Google Pixel 6 or newer. Older phones may still qualify for half the promotional value, resulting in savings of $415 or $250 or other values, depending on the plan.

The deal is also combinable with current Costco and Sam’s Club gift cards—the gift card amount for upgrades currently stands at $100 per line, and you get the upgrade fee waived, so if you have a Costco membership, you may want to plan a drive over to the warehouse.

We’re not yet sure how long the deal will last, so be sure to snag it while you can if interested.
