Team - As we approach the 18th month of the global pandemic where COVID-19 became a reality, I continue to be proud of T-Mobile's leadership position to successfully navigate the last eighteen months. Our single north star has been to keep our employees and our customers safe. We were one of the first companies in the United States to close its offices. We immediately closed 80% of our retail stores throughout the country until we got a handle on the situation. We creatively procured cleaning supplies from around the globe to keep our stores sanitized and healthy. We were one of the first companies to implement a managed retail environment including requiring employees and customers to wear masks nationwide, and one of the few companies that implemented an execution validation system to ensure face coverings were being enforced, surfaces and demo equipment being continually sanitized, and physical distancing was being promoted with active occupancy management. Additionally, T-Mobile had a very caring policy that promoted compensation guarantees for employees diagnosed as Level 0 or identified as Level 1 to keep our employees safe, including being one of the first retailers to require daily wellness and temperature checks for employees. And finally, we immediately suspended our performance management approach concerning sales results for multiple quarters, guaranteed commissions to pre-pandemic performance levels, all in an effort to prevent the unintentional shortcutting of our safety policies in order to promote personal wellness and keep our employees safe. As I said, I could not be more proud of T-Mobile for leading the way and demonstrating to all businesses in America what's possible if you put frontline employees and customers at the center of all decisions. Over a year later, we have finally arrived in a place where we are planning to take additional actions that recognizes the United States moving into a new phase of the global pandemic. Given updated CDC guidance, and the state of COVID-19 vaccination in the country, I am pleased to announce several updates to our policies. Most of these policies will be effective June 30th as we're providing 45 days of additional time for our frontline employees to become fully vaccinated after receiving the latest CDC guidance. For Our Customers in all T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile Branded Retail Stores: If customers are fully vaccinated, and state/local laws do not require the use of a face covering indoors, we will no longer require face coverings in our stores effective June 30th. If state/local laws require the use of face coverings, we will continue to be compliant with these laws until the state/local laws are updated. We are asking customers to use the honor system on vaccinations. Effective immediately, we are asking all employees to suspend the enforcement of face coverings. Our policy will remain until June 30th, but we want to avoid unnecessary escalations and refrain from placing our employees in a position to be the mask police. We will review and create updated in-store and digital messaging that's consistent with our current policy, but signal our updated policy and the June 30th effective date, and then fully move to our new policy effective June 30th. We will continue to be guided by CDC guidance, OSHA guidance, monitor the realities of the pandemic, stay compliant with state/local laws and public health organizations, and may choose to alter this approach in the future if the conditions require us to do so. For Our T-Mobile Employees: If employees are fully vaccinated (defined as final dose plus 14 days) through self-attestation, and state/local laws do not require the use of a face covering indoors, we will no longer require the use of a face coverings in our stores effective June 30th. If state/local laws preclude employers from taking action against employees because they haven't been vaccinated, or require that employees continue to wear masks, we will continue to be compliant with these laws. All non-vaccinated employees will be required to continue to use a mask beyond June 30th until further notice. Fully vaccinated employees who report as a Level 1 exposure, whether it's self-reported or Company-informed, will no longer be required to quarantine effective June 1. For employees who report as a Level 0 exposure who are diagnosed with COVID-19, these employees will continue to receive the established PTNW treatment through June 30th. Effective July 1, any Level 0 employee would use their own PTO time that's historically recognized for sick time. Of course, employees are not permitted to work if they are sick and must be symptom-free for 48 hours upon returning to work. We plan to bring daily wellness temperature checks to a close on July 1 pending any outstanding federal, state, or local public health or regulatory guidance. We will continue to be guided by CDC guidance, OSHA guidance, monitor the realities of the pandemic, stay compliant with state/local laws and public health organizations, and may choose to alter this approach in the future if the conditions require us to do so. As I've said countless times, your personal safety is our north star. It would be very easy to update these policies immediately and simply move on. However, it's very important that we provide another 45 days to put our frontline teams in a position to become fully vaccinated. While vaccination is not currently a requirement for employees, we continue to encourage employees to become fully vaccinated for their own protection, and for the protection of others as now reported by the CDC. As always, if you have any questions or comments, please let me know. Thank you! Jon Freier
