UPDATE 9/1: The offer is no longer available at this time. If T-Mobile decides to bring back the offer we’ll be sure to let you know.

UPDATE 8/31: The broken trade-in offer is ending today, 8/31/22. If you are wanting to take advantage of this deal, including the “Pro” model offer mentioned in the comments, today is your last day to place an order. There’s no indication that the offer will continue with a different phone at this time.

Original story below.

T-Mobile is no stranger to great phone deals. Back in April of 2021, T-Mobile began offering free 5G phones with “any” trade-in, starting with the Galaxy A32 5G. That meant anything from an older smartphone you had laying around to an ancient flip phone that no longer even connects to modern networks.

Now T-Mobile has made the deal even better. As of August 23rd, not only will T-Mobile give you a free 5G phone when you trade in any old phone, but they’ll give you one in exchange for a broken phone too.

The news comes via two sources. The first is an active promotion listing on the T-Mobile website for the Revvl 6, the current phone included in the offer. In the deal popup, embedded below, it details how any trade-in, “including broken devices”, are eligible. The info below says that a new line is required, but we’ve confirmed that’s a misprint.

The second source is an internal document shared with us here at The T-Mo Report, embedded below. The document shares the details about the new damaged device eligibility.

Got a cracked screen on your old Samsung from 6 years ago? Have a smashed up phone that won’t even turn on? No problem. Trade it into T-Mobile and they’ll give you a free 5G phone in return (via 24 months of bill credits).

The Revvl 6 is the first device eligible for damaged trade-ins. It features a 6.5″ HD+ display with a 4500 mAh battery and a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor. Not top of the line, but also not bad for free.

Customers interested in the offer can place an order online or in the T-Mobile app. Choose a line to “upgrade” and when asked to trade-in your device, choose “Want to trade-in a different device?” at the bottom.

After that, enter your trade-in phone’s details. If you can’t find your trade-in device in the list, you can choose “Only 2022 Revvl Trade P2” for all three boxes, as shown below.

From there, complete the order and just pay up-front taxes and you’re good to go. If you’d like, you can also visit any T-Mobile store to complete the purchase, though there will be a $35 assistance fee for that method.

There’s no telling how long this offer will last, so head to a store or visit the T-Mobile website to start your trade-in today.
